The Legacy Lounge at VPR

What better way to celebrate our club's 80th birthday than to honor those who made Vista Palomar Riders the unique riding club that it is today. In addition to our online Legacy page celebrating our history, we are exploring a conversion of the current clubhouse lounge area into something truly special: The Legacy Lounge at Vista Palomar Riders.
Our goal is to remodel the space with genuine VPR artifacts, professionally printed/framed photographs and memorabilia dating back to the earliest years of our club's founding. We intend to fund this exciting endeavor with private funds from sponsorships, private donations, and in-kind contributions to create a lasting legacy for future VPR generations to enjoy.

FAQ
Q: How much will it cost and how long will it take to build?
A: It depends. Ideally, we would like to raise enough funds to complete the entire project in a one fell swoop. Estimates are being obtained now and we look forward to learning more about how our members may be able to contribute with in-kind services and/or materials. Our goal is to have the Legacy Lounge completed by summer, 2026.
Q: What happens if we fall short of the budget?
A: The lounge in its current state is rarely used by members, a fact that affords us the flexibility to complete the project in phases if necessary.
Q: What happens if monies and in-kind contributions exceed what is needed to complete the project?
A: In the case that extra improvement funds are available upon completion of the Legacy Lounge, the extra funding will be used for upgrades that improve our facility and our members overall.
Q: Are permits required?
A: There are no structural changes being made to the existing structure. We will seek professional assessments and move forward accordingly.
Q: How will my contribution be recognized?
A: Whether your contribution is in-kind (such as supplying materials, labor or other needed elements) or financial sponsorship, either personally or through a company, all contributors regardless of contribution size will be recognized on a permanent plaque made locally by Luna Custom Woodwork. This special recognition of everyone who participated in the creating of the Legacy Lounge will be proudly displayed at the lounge entrance for generations.
Q: Should we use club funds for other improvements such as new arena lights, new gates, new security or something else?
A: Yes. Club funds derived from membership dues, Wagon Wheel, Kids for Country and other club revenue producers are used to improve our club facilities. Funds for the Legacy Lounge will be raised on a volunteer basis for purposes of recognizing and celebrating the VPR Legacy which is so unique to our club.
We want to hear from you!
